I truly love practicing all styles of yoga but Ashtanga (The 8 limbs of yoga) is my method of choice. Ashtanga is the method I studied in my teacher training. It's a combination of moral discipline, observances, asana, breath work, concentration and meditation. When teaching a class I bring my own creative vinyasa flavor to the flow. I love when music is infused into sequences - as an aspiring DJ I love curating an amazing playlist to set the tone for the class.

I think that yoga is for everyone! My dream is to make yoga a more accessible practice. It breaks my heart when someone comes to my class and admits that they’re intimidated. Especially in LA, yoga can feel very shiny and elitist. I try to promote an open and accepting environment in all of my classes, so everyone feels that they are in a safe space free of judgment.

Now, at 62, yoga has helped me to break free from the limiting social construct of age, especially as a woman. My life experience is held in my body, and all 62 years have resulted in strength reflected in my muscles and my generosity, beauty in wrinkles that reflect my perseverance and dedication, and power in the ability to claim it all as my own.
