A bit of a misnomer, liquid chlorophyll supplements are usually chlorophyllin, a semi-synthetic, water-soluble form of chlorophyll. Chlorophyllin is derived from chlorophyll but bound to copper instead of magnesium. So when you find liquid forms of chlorophyll supplements, you’re likely taking chlorophyllin. You can find natural chlorophyll in supplement form as a powder or tablet.

“Chlorophyllin appears to be better absorbed than natural sources of chlorophyll, though it’s not clear if we actually need to absorb it any better than we already do from plants and algae,” says Clairmont.

For me, the idea of drinking chlorophyll for a week was to try out this health craze and discover whether it would help clear up my skin (which is not as blemish-free as I'd like) and provide digestive relief since I often have issues with my gut.
