Water is one of our most essential needs for our survival and therefore the quality of water we drink every day is important to our health. When it comes to bottled water, there are mostly two choices, purified or spring. Both have their own pros and cons depending upon your preference.
Purified water is the one that has gone through a purification process to eliminate pathogens and chemical impurities like arsenic, lead, copper and other toxic pollutants. On the other hand, spring water is basically well or groundwater that is richer in natural minerals than other types of water, as it doesn't go through such a rigorous filtration process.
Why choose purified water over spring water?
One reason is that the former is subjected to strict FDA guidelines and public health standards. It has an overall impurity level reduced to 10 parts per million. Also, purified water is easily available anywhere in the world, whereas spring water is not. The taste of the water is another factor you can consider while choosing the best type of water.
The water from natural springs has a different taste due to stone filtration and the minerals it contains. So, the bottom line is that both spring and purified water are safe to drink, so it all comes down to personal choice. If you appreciate the taste of the water, spring water is better if you can find it.
All the best,
